SKILLED NURSING HOME CARE

Our professional staff is dedicated to the individual care of our residents, carried out in a manner of warmth, respect, and dignity. Ongoing training is provided to all staff to ensure and enhance the quality of care given to all residents.

The resident is the main focus of care. Goals and approaches are agreed upon as individual care plans are formulated by our staff, resident and the family. Skilled nursing care is provided to the resident as ordered by the physician in the areas of wound care, IV therapy, enteral feeding, respiratory needs and other skilled nursing interventions. Hitz Home welcomes residents who are in need of respite or hospice care.

Our rooms are cheery with large windows and are decorated with residents' personal belongings which gives the room a very homelike appearance. Each bed is covered by a colorful quilt made by the Hitz Home Ladys' Auxiliary. In the dining room there is an elegant aviary and also large windows where exceptional views of the beautiful grounds can be enjoyed. A wide variety of activities and opportunities motivate a desire to participate.

COST OF NURSING HOME CARE

Hitz Home is a great value. There is a homey atmosphere and caring staff who provide great care. As of July 1, 2008 a stay in the nursing home will run approximately $125 per day for rooms with three beds, $129 per day for rooms with two beds, and $149 per day for a private room. The average room rate is $134 per day which averages $5.58 per hour. The average annual cost of a nursing home stay is $74,806, in Illinois it is $50,469; while the average cost of a nursing home stay per year at Hitz Home is $46,355. What a bargain! The home is certified Medicaid and Medicare. Our census ran 96% last year. This compares favorably to the State average of 84%.
Medicare will pay for certain qualified skilled services for up to 100 days per spell of illness. Services may be covered under Part A or Part B. Hitz will provide assistance with billing your Medicare supplement, if needed.

Hitz is a not-for-profit home and is dedicated to meeting the needs of the elderly. When a resident has no assets to pay for nursing home services, help will be provided to apply to the State of Illinois for Medicaid.
